Executive Function Groups

Some kids just need a little help developing their Executive Functioning skills. These important skills allow a person to plan, focus, remember and manage multiple tasks. But, just because a differently-wired kid struggles in these areas, doesn’t mean they can’t improve.

These weekly classes allow kids with similar struggles to work together, with the help of a professional facilitator, in a small-group setting to practice:

  • Asking for help and problem solving.

  • Processing and handling distractions.

  • Overcoming overwhelm and breaking down tasks.

  • Sustaining attention on non-preferred activities.

  • Utilizing mind-shifting and flexibility when expectations don’t match reality.

  • Reaching the next stage of independence.

Prerequisites:

  • Conversational with other peers and adults

  • Able to participate in small group instruction with minimal adult support

  • Able to play with other peers with minimal adult support.
